Export your trades from any prop platform.

Updated 7 Oct 2026By the SteadyPnL team

Every platform hides its trade export in a different place. Here is where to find it, what format to pick, and which time zone each file uses.

Short answer

Most platforms export closed trades as a CSV from a performance or history screen: Tradovate from Reports → Performance, TopstepX from the Trades tab, NinjaTrader from Trade Performance, Rithmic from Order History, and MetaTrader as an HTML or Excel report from the History tab. Check the time zone of each file; SteadyPnL converts every file to New York time.

Tradovate

  1. Open Reports, then the Performance tab.
  2. Pick the date range you want.
  3. Click Download to save the CSV.
Times are in your computer's time zone. Apex, Tradeify and Topstep accounts that run on Tradovate use the same report. The Orders export works too; SteadyPnL pairs the fills into round trips.

TopstepX and other ProjectX platforms

  1. Open your account and go to the Trades tab.
  2. Choose the dates.
  3. Click Export (CSV).
Each timestamp carries its own time zone, so it converts automatically. Fees and commissions in the file are subtracted.

NinjaTrader 8

  1. In the Control Center, choose New → Trade Performance.
  2. Set Display to Trades and click Generate.
  3. Right-click the grid and choose Export.
NinjaTrader's profit already includes commission. The Executions grid works too; SteadyPnL pairs the fills.

Rithmic R Trader Pro

  1. Open Order History and choose Completed Orders.
  2. Pick the day.
  3. Click Export. One file per day.
The time zone is read from the file header.

MetaTrader 5

  1. Open the History tab in the Toolbox.
  2. Right-click and choose Report.
  3. Save it as HTML or Open XML (Excel).
Times are your broker's server time, usually GMT+2 or GMT+3; you confirm the zone in the import preview. MetaTrader cannot save a plain CSV of closed trades, so use the report.

MetaTrader 4

  1. Open the Account History tab.
  2. Right-click and choose Save as Report (or Save as Detailed Report).
Times are broker server time. Balance and cancelled rows are skipped automatically.

Quantower

  1. Open the Trades panel from the main menu.
  2. Set the date range.
  3. Right-click the panel and choose Export data, keep all columns, select comma separated, and click Export file.
You confirm the time zone in the import preview.

Sierra Chart

  1. Open Trade → Trade Activity Log and go to the Trade Activity tab.
  2. Under Display Settings, set the activity type to Fills and filter the dates you want.
  3. Choose File → Save Log As and save it as a text file.
SteadyPnL reads Sierra Chart times as UTC and converts them to New York time; you can change the zone in the import preview.

Any other platform

  1. Export your closed trades as CSV or Excel.
  2. Make sure there is a date, a symbol and either a P&L column or entry and exit prices.
European formats such as ; separators and 39,30 decimals are read too. You pick the time zone in the preview.

What happens when you import into SteadyPnL

No file? You can log trades by hand in about 20 seconds each.

Can I export my trades from TopstepX?

How do I export trade history from MetaTrader 5?
In the Toolbox, open the History tab, right-click, choose Report and save it as HTML or Open XML. MetaTrader uses your broker's server time, usually GMT+2 or GMT+3.
