Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Short version: we keep only what the app needs, we never sell it, and you can export or delete it at any time.
SteadyPnL is operated by Damn Square LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, USA ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, email support@steadypnl.com.
1. What we collect
- Your email address, to create your account and send you sign-in codes and links.
- Your journal: the accounts and rules you set up, the trades you import or log, and your tags, notes, check-ins, weekly focus and settings. We store it so it syncs between your devices.
- Chart screenshots stay on the device where you added them. They are not uploaded to us.
- Waitlist details, if you join the waitlist: your email, the platform you pick, anything you write in the optional question, and the country your connection comes from (worked out automatically, never your address).
- Security records: when you ask for a sign-in code we keep the network (IP) address it came from for up to 2 days, only to stop abuse. For each signed-in device we keep the browser type.
- Anonymous usage totals, such as how many people closed their day today. These totals carry no cookie, IP address or user ID and cannot be linked to you.
We do not collect broker or prop-firm logins, payment card numbers, your contacts, your precise location, or data from other apps.
2. How we use it
- To run SteadyPnL for you: sign-in, sync, calculations and your weekly review.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To improve the product, using anonymous totals only.
- To email you about early access and launch if you joined the waitlist. Reply "stop" at any time.
We never sell your data, show you ads, share your trades, or use your journal to give trading advice.
For people in the EU, EEA and UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running the service), our legitimate interests (security and anonymous product statistics), and your consent (waitlist emails).
3. The AI weekly review
The weekly review is written only from your own journal, only for you. When an AI model is used to write it, we send only the data needed for your report, and our AI provider is not allowed to use it to train its models. The review describes your habits and rules; it never tells you what to trade.
4. Cookies and storage on your device
We use one essential cookie that keeps you signed in. It is secure, cannot be read by scripts, and expires after 60 days without use or when you sign out. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers. The app also keeps a copy of your journal in your browser so it opens fast and works offline. All fonts and files load from steadypnl.com, so your visit is not shared with other companies.
5. Who processes your data
Like most online services, we rely on a small number of carefully chosen service providers: cloud hosting and database infrastructure, transactional email delivery, AI processing for the weekly review, and, once paid plans start, payment processing. They handle data only on our instructions, under data-processing agreements, and may not use it for their own purposes. We do not share your journal with anyone else unless the law requires it.
6. Where your data is stored
Your journal is stored in an encrypted database in Western Europe. Some of our providers, for example for email delivery and the waitlist, may process data in the United States. When data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, it is protected by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account and journal: while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, including from backups.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and links after 20 minutes; their records are deleted after 2 days. Sessions end when you sign out or after 60 days without use.
- Waitlist details: until you ask us to remove you or the waitlist closes.
- Anonymous totals contain no personal data and may be kept.
8. Your rights and choices
- Export your full journal at any time from Accounts & rules (JSON and CSV).
- Ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@steadypnl.com. We reply within 30 days.
- If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
- We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, as those terms are used in US state privacy laws.
9. Security
Passwordless sign-in, encryption in transit and at rest, isolated request handling, and no third-party scripts. The full picture, including the technical detail, is on our security page.
10. Children
SteadyPnL is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
